Jewell Stanton, 85, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Vista Care at Franciscan Woods.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, October 15, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jay Bailey officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Stanton was born February 25, 1927 in Ducktown, TN daughter of the late Noah and Ada Clayton. She worked as a State Farm agent and also had worked for Century 21 Real Estate Company.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Odell Culberson, her second husband, Thomas Edwin Stanton, and her brother, Noah Clayton.
Survivors include her sons, Tommy Stanton and David Stanton (Bea) all of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Catherine Schmoll, Joel Stanton, Angie Duncan, Nichole Culberson, Clay Culberson, Rebecca Culberson and Ryan Cochran, daughter-in-law, Theresia Culberson, and many great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Vista Care 100 Brookstone Centre Parkway Columbus, GA 31904 or to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. Suite 710 Columbus, GA 31901.
