Jewell Bodiford Goodman, 90, of Columbus, GA died Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Gary Richardson and Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Goodman was born March 19, 1926 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Bennie C. Bodiford and Lillie Mae Purvis Bodiford. For 22 years, Mrs. Goodman worked at Schwob Clothing, later retiring as a Capcitor Welder at Kemet Union Carbid. Mrs. Goodman was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in the yard and volunteering at Hospice and Senior Citizen Center.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Dewey Goodman; and 3 brothers, Bennie, Bronnie and Bobby Bodiford.
Survivors include her son, Gary Dewey Goodman (Janet); 2 sisters, Lucille Steibel (William) and Betty Jo Hooks; and 2 grandchildren, Steven Goodman and Brian Goodman.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Valley Rescue Mission, 2903 2nd Avenue Columbus, GA 31904.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff to the Gardens of Calvary.
