Jessie Fussell Gunnels, 78, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. David Howle officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gunnels was born February 14, 1938 in Preston, GA daughter of the late Joe Fussell, Sr. and Leila Bell Fussell. She retired from Dillards where she worked as a Sales Associate. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Gunnels, and two sisters, Mary Frances Minick and Weone Powell.
Survivors include her son, Michael Gunnels (Kathy), daughter, Debra Clark (Wayne) all of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Kristy Ries (Christian) of Tampa, FL, Lori Levine (Andrew) of Atlanta, GA, Teresa Vega (Joey) of Ellerslie, GA, Jessica Shelby (Jessie), Katie Richter (Carey), Jeffrey Gunnels (Kathryn) and Jonathan Clark all of Columbus, GA, 9 great grandchildren, brother, Joe Fussell, Jr. (Sarah) of Preston, GA, and sister, Marcia Meeks of Ellaville, GA.
