Jesse L. King, 87, of Columbus, GA, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 4, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Frank Parr and Rev. J.P. Grantham officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. King was born August 18, 1927 in Red Level located in Covington County, AL son of the late Noah A. King and Etta Payne King. He was the owner of King Paint Company in Columbus, GA.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas A. King, Sr. and William E. King, and sisters, Ollie Mae Rainer, Lois Marie Gaultney, and Beulah Mae Turner.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Geraldine Clemmons King of Columbus, GA; daughters, Sandra K. Hightower of Columbus, GA and Charlotte Potts (Tim) of Acworth, GA; sons, Garry King (Debbie) of Midland, GA and Lee King (Debbie) of Columbus, GA; brother, Noah A. King, Jr. (Faye) of Columbus, GA; sister, Darnella Walraven (Russ) of Fortson, GA; 5 grandchildren, Robert Ebberman, III (Maggie) of Acworth, GA, Lauren Dimitri (Tony) of Ellerslie, GA, Andrew King (Jordan), Megan Hooks (Michael), and Harrison Hightower all of Columbus, GA; and 7 great-grandchildren, Brielle Ebberman and Tegan Ebberman both of Acworth, GA, Cayden Dimitri and Carrington Dimitri both of Ellerslie, GA, and Keelee King, Blakely King and Damon Hooks all of Columbus, GA.
