Jerry Wayne Willoughby

Jerry Wayne Willoughby, 76, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at home.

Jerry was a retired truck driver and family man. He and his wife Bonnie were married 53 years, during which time he had two sons, one of whom married and gave Jerry three grandchildren. He was close to his immediate and extended family. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War, during which he was trained in his future vocation. His fondest memories of his tenure in the military were of driving through Europe. Jerry loved boating and fishing, football (especially college football) and boxing. His greatest passion was for all varieties of automobiles. He was a natural mechanic with a wide-ranging knowledge of most motor driven vehicles.

He is preceded by his parents Watkins Willoughby and Mary Randall Willoughby.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Bonnie S Willoughby, two sons, Joseph W. Willoughby, Randall Willoughby (Jennifer), three grandchildren, Alfred Willoughby, Abigail Willoughby, and Violet Willoughby, one sister, Brenda Harral, two nieces Lisa Geanetta (Daniel) and Cathy Pratt (Randy). In addition there were numerous other family members including several brothers-in-law, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, as well as others that though more distant in relation and regular affiliation, remain always close in heart. He is also survived by his pets, Jack and Gibbs.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
