Jerry Mason Walker, 68 of Box Springs, GA, passed away Thursday October 31, 2024 at Piedmont Northside, in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907

Jerry was born on September 23, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia, to Mrs. Helen Howze Youngblood and the late Johnny Walker. Prior to his retirement, he was a Sonic Inspector at Pratt and Whitney, a role in which he took immense pride. Throughout his youth, he exemplified the spirit of a fighter, a trait he maintained well into his later years. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and often invited friends and family to fish in his pond. Throughout the years, during the Christmas season, he presented family, friends, and even strangers with brown paper bags filled with treats, which his children and grandchildren assisted in gifting. Jerry left a lasting impression on those around him, balancing a tough exterior with a gentle heart. He was a reserved man, yet his vibrant personality and sense of humor resonate strongly with others. Jerry’s family home became a gathering place for people from all walks of life and his legacy of fostering community will live on through his children and grandchildren.

Other than his mother he is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Walker of Box Springs, GA. son: Jason Walker (Shelby) of Box Springs, GA, daughters, Jessica Satterfield of Box Springs, GA and Jamie Huchelba (Buddy) of Hamilton, GA, sister: Sherry Clegg (Sam) of Cataula, GA. His grandchildren: Shelby Satterfield, Laney Satterfield, Mason Satterfield, Novalee Huckelba, Delilah Huckelba, Buddy Huckelba II, Hayden Walker, JT Walker, Alyssa Walker and Roscoe Walker. Nieces Vanessa, Tammy and Joy. Also his good friend, Al Brooks.
