Jerry Dean Riley

Jerry Dean Riley, 78, of Midland, Georgia went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at his residence.

A Celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Kevin Baker officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Riley was born on October 4, 1944, in Sylacauga, Alabama to Arthur and Evelyn Riley. He was a retired Navy veteran and home builder. Mr. Riley had a wide range of hobbies, including vacationing with his family, vegetable gardening, searching for Native American artifacts, fishing, and cooking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Riley.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Rita June Riley, two daughters, Susan Smith (Tim Smith) and Kimberly Riley, three grandchildren, Kari Kuykendall (Patrick Kuykendall), Noel Reid (Joe Reid), and Noah Rodgers, four great-grandchildren, Karri, Jesse, Joseph, and Charlie, and five siblings, Brenda Morris, Mary Ann Missildine, Debra Poole, Larry Riley, Patrice Riley, James Riley, Jeanette Riley, Marie Riley, as well as several extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Arthur Riley and his mother and father, Evelyn and Arthur Riley.
