It is with absolute heartbreak, but also joy that he is with the Lord, that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Griffin, 77, of Phenix City, Alabama, who peacefully passed away on January 20, 2025 with family at his side. Jerry was born on January 22, 1947 in Rebecca, Ga.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Living Grace Church, with Pastor Buddy Cooper officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Jerry was known for his kind spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. His love for his family was evident in everything he did. He had a remarkable ability to brighten any room with his smile, and his positive outlook on life touched the hearts of everyone he met. Jerry honorably served his country as a member of the US Air Force.
Jerry was a devoted and loving father to his children. He also adored his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He was a proud member of the local church community, and his faith was a cornerstone of his life.
In addition to his family, Jerry had a passion for fishing, camping, gardening, and watching college football, particularly his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a familiar face at local gatherings, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement. His generosity and warmth were unmatched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his children, Tony Griffin, Timmy Griffin, Tommy Griffin, Dodie Griffin and Tanya Palcher; as well as his 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; His siblings, Bonnie Arnold, Larry Griffin, Donnie Griffin, Ronnie Griffin, and many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Davis and Lee Griffin and his spouse Debbie Harrelson.
Jerry’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, and healthcare providers who supported him during his illness. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Rest in peace, Jerry. You will never be forgotten.
