Jerry R. Estes, 75, of Phenix City died Friday, February 11, 2011 at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Bradford McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 till 7 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Estes was born January 9, 1936 in Phenix City, AL son of the late Ruth Slaten Estes and Calvin Ellis Estes, Sr. He had worked for Swift Textiles as a weaver and supply clerk. He was a baptist by faith and loved his family dearly. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Judy Estes.
Survivors include his wife Flora I Estes of Phenix City, AL; daughter, Renee Baughman of Phenix City, AL; step-daughter, Vickie Boyett (John) of Opp, AL; sons, Jackie Estes of Smiths Station, AL and Ronnie Estes (Jackie) of Phenix City, AL; step-son, Eddie Hawthorne of Seale, AL; brother, Calvin Ellis Estes, Jr of Valley, AL; grandchildren, Ronald Estes, Donald Estes, Jonathan Boyett, Jessica Baughman, T. J. Sawyer, Jerry William Estes, Jonathan Ryan Estes and Donald James Estes; great grandchildren Ashton Estes, Addison Estes, Jayden Sawyer and several nieces and nephews.
