Jerry Ray Bonner

Jerry Ray Bonner, 79, of Columbus, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, August 6, 2021 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Chase Welch officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, GA following the service.
Jerry was born January 25, 1942 in Homewood, FL to the late Thomas Lucas Ray Bonner and Delphia Evelyn Jordan Bonner. Jerry was a hardworking man, a dedicated father and loving grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, watching NASCAR, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. He was a mechanic for Dover Elevator where he retired and a member at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Vicki Bonner of Columbus, GA, Sandi Shelnutt Daniel (Charles) of Woodland, GA, Jessica Bonner of Columbus, GA, son, Tony Shelnutt (Kelly) of Hamilton, GA, brothers, Joe Bonner of Heuytown, AL, Jimmy Bonner (Patsy) of Bessemer, AL, six grandchildren, Amber Bradshaw (Blake) of Hamilton, GA, Cory Barker of Columbus, GA, Travis Shelnutt, Logan Shelnutt, Kaitlyn Shelnutt all of Hamilton, GA, Miranda Daniel (Doug) of Carrollton, GA, five great-grandchildren, Skylar Bradshaw, Adalee Bradshaw, Korbyn Bradshaw, Hudson Bradshaw, and Evelyn Shelnutt all of Hamilton, GA and his special furry friend Lucky.
