Jeffrey Joseph Maunz

Jeffrey Joseph Maunz, known affectionately to family and friends as Jeff, passed away on January 6, 2024 in Columbus, Georgia. Born on August 24, 1963 to the late Eugene Maunz and Mary Jo Matland, in Fairmont, West Virigina, Jeff’s journey through life was marked by a generous spirit, a creative mind, and a kind heart. He left this world at the age of 60.

Jeff graduated from Hardaway High School and studied electronics at Columbus Technical College in Columbus, Georgia.

Jeff embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by founding Diamond Paint Company, a venture that would endure for over two decades. The year was 2005 when he decided to expand his horizons and established Powder Coating of Columbus. After dedicating twelve years to its growth and success, Jeff eventually made the decision to sell the business. Throughout his journey, he cherished the thrill of running his own enterprises, relishing the challenges, and embracing the rewards that accompanied his hard work.

Jeff met the love of his life, Sheri Maunz, and they were married for 23 blissful years. They were soulmates, creating cherished memories and embarking on adventures together. Their love remains a source of inspiration, reminding us of the beauty and strength of true love.

Jeff's life was filled with simple pleasures and meaningful connections. He adored his wife Sheri, finding immense joy in their shared moments. They embarked on adventures, discovering the beauty of nature, gardening, and casting lines into the water. Jeff cherished quality time with loved ones, hosting gatherings where laughter echoed, and love flourished. He found peace on tranquil boat rides and embraced the thrill of the casino. Above all, Jeff believed in the power of laughter and fun, living each day with a down-to-earth spirit that embraced the beauty of life's simple joys.

Along with his late parents, Jeff Maunz is preceded in death by his wife Sheri Maunz, stepfather Rudy Matland, and sister, Carla Maunz.

Jeff is survived by two sisters Lisa McDaniel and Angie Maunz, and his brother Mark Maunz. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Karl McDaniel, niece Katie McDaniel, and nephews Zach and Max Maunz.

In bidding farewell to Jeff, we honor a life brimming with passion, connection, and love. He now reunites with his wife Sheri in heaven, leaving behind a legacy in the hearts he touched. While deeply missed, Jeff’s spirit will forever inspire us. May his soul find eternal rest.

In lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of Jeff's life will be held this spring (2024). More details to follow at a later date."
