Dr. Jeffery Allan King, a local dentist, age 49, of Fortson GA, died unexpectedly on February 16, 2017, while on vacation in Dillon, Colorado.
Jeff was born in Columbus, GA, March 29, 1967, and graduated from Harris County High School, class of 1985. He was in the US Navy from 1985-1991, and served in the first gulf war.
On July 2, 1988, he married his wife, Paige, and in 1999, they had their son, Eric.
Jeff went to Augusta State University and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry, with the class of 1999.
He owned Gentle Dentistry of Columbus with Dr. Darcy Leerssen, and volunteered on several dental mission trips in multiple countries. Jeff was immediate past president of the Western District Dental Society, Georgia Dental Association.
He was devoted to his family. A beloved husband, father, son, and friend, Jeff enjoyed spending time with family and friends, doing projects around the home, hunting, sports, and traveling.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Paige, and his son, Eric. He is also survived by his stepmother, Diane Seaver; his mother, Priscilla Gaynor; his brother, Jason King (wife, Tina, son, Hunter); his brother, Keith Edgar (wife, Tammy, and children Kerri and Claudia); his in-laws, Jack and Beverly Holland; his brother-in-law, Jackie Holland (wife, Sheila, and children, Darris and Alyssa); and niece, Amanda Serna (husband, Luie, and children, Hunter and Harrison); and several other nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was predeceased by his father, Charles King, and other family members.
A service of remembrance will be held at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31908 on February 21, 2017. Visitation will be held 4-6pm ET, and the service will follow immediately at 6pm ET.
