Jeanne S. Martin, 91, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Wynnton United Methodist Church 2412 Wynnton Rd. Columbus, GA 31906 with Reverend Stephanie Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ms. Martin was born August 17, 1925 in Harriman, TN daughter of the late Marion Ezekial Strunk and Mary Stewart Strunk. She worked as a secretary for Tom's Foods. Ms. Martin was a member of Harriman United Methodist Church. She moved to Columbus in 1984 and became a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marion Christia "Chris" Martin, five sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include her children, William H. "Skip" Martin (Sue), Tecla Martin (partner, Kate Norris) and Gina Martin Hudson, sister, Jayne S. Watson (Allan), grandchildren, Jeff Martin, Jill Collins, Tammy Marth, Rev. Stephanie Caldwell, Jeff Hudson, Chris Hudson and Mary Beth Hudson, great grandchildren, Camren and Amanda Martin, Austin and Chase Collins, Will, Anna and Hudson Caldwell, and Ridley, Carter and Mercer Hudson, special daughter-in-law, Cindy Martin Handler (Tim) and their children, Whitney and Devin, and many special nieces, nephews, and many very special friends whom she loved dearly.
