Barbara Jeanine Cotton, affectionately known as Jeanine, 87, beloved wife and mother went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM Friday, November 1, 2024 at Wynnton Methodist Church, 2412 Wynnton Road in Columbus, GA with Pastor Jason Wade officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at 10 AM prior to the service. A private interment will take place at Parkhill Cemetery following services.
Jeanine was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late E.G. Hubbard, Jr. and Dolly Minter Hubbard. She was a proud graduate of Jordan High School Class of ’55. After high school she began working as a secretary at Muscogee Mills. It was during this time, that she met the love of her life and future husband of 53 years, George Cotton. She left the workforce for a while to become a stay at home mom. She later became the secretary for Hallie Turner Private School where she retired after 15 years. Her last role was bookkeeper for George’s business Cotton’s Custom Metals. Jeanine was a faithful member of Wynnton Methodist Church and the Goodwill Sunday School class. In her free time she had a passion for decorating, cooking and entertaining for family and friends and tending to her secret garden.
In addition to her parents, Jeanine is preceded in death by her husband, George. She is survived by her daughter, Candice Cotton of Columbus, GA; sister, Mary Frances Boone (Charles) of Macon, GA; brother, Eric Hubbard, III (Debby) of Columbus, GA and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Wynnton Methodist Church in Columbus.
