Jean Groman Jones Phillips, 69, of Newnan, GA formerly of Cataula, GA died Monday, June 20, 2016 at her home.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. Don Butler, Sr. and Rev. Matthew Isennock officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church in Villa Rica, GA and also after the service at the cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Phillips was born February 25, 1947 in Columbus, GA daughter of Merle Jacobs Groman of Columbus, GA and the late Ernest Alfred Groman. She was a homemaker and a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Villa Rica, GA.
Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Ned Jones.
Survivors include her mother, Merle Jacobs Groman of Columbus, GA, husband, Nelson Phillips of Newnan, GA, two daughters, Jill Jones McMullen of Columbus, GA and Julie Jones Edenfield (Lee) of Cataula, GA, two sons, Jared Jones (Allyson) of Columbus, GA and James Jones (Melinda) of McDonough, GA, step-daughters, Beth Phillips, Suzanne Phillips Talley (Richard) and Ellen Phillips Womack all of Douglasville, GA, sisters, Jane Groman Roberts (Troy) of Columbus, GA and June Groman Matlock (Glen) of Richland, GA, 11 grandchildren, Annie Jacob McMullen, Bowden McMullen, Raines Edenfield, Davis Edenfield, Ned Jones, Maxwell Jones, Jack Jones, Mackenzie Glaze, Madison Glaze, Olivia Jones and Liam Jones, and 4 step-grandchildren, Rachel Talley, Jake Womack, Jordan Womack and Hannah Womack.
She lived her life in deep commitment to Jesus Christ and demonstrated her commitment in loyal and loving service to all.
