Jean F. Morris

Jean F. Morris, 74, of Columbus, GA died peacefully in her home on Monday, November 24, 2014.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Hagan officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Jean, also known as, "Grandmother" was born March 9, 1940 in Sugar Valley, GA daughter of the late Linton R. and Maggie Stephens Faulkenberry. She retired from the Columbus Ledger Enquirer after 32 years. Jean was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where she was active in the Friendship Sunday School Class, Vintage Group, and HIS Group. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed watching Little League Baseball, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Harold W. Morris, Sr. of Columbus, GA, her children, H. Wayne Morris, Jr. (Diane) of Columbus, GA, Randy Morris (Leslie) of Columbus, GA, Debra Ledbetter (Gary) of Phenix City, AL, Mike Morris of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Shane Morris (Heather) of Fortson, GA, Alyssa Morris of Columbus, GA, Blaire Willis (Cam) of Columbus, GA, Matthew Ledbetter of Phenix City, AL, Lindsey Fossa (Corey) of Cataula, GA, Amanda Morris of Columbus, GA, Elizabeth Ledbetter of Phenix City, AL and Natalie Morris of Columbus, GA, great grandchildren, Mason and Mackenzie Morris of Fortson, GA, one great grandson on the way, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, her godchild, Kristen Summerall, and her pug, Maggie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Epworth United Methodist Church 2400 Devonshire Dr. Columbus, GA 31904.
