Jean Marston Kelley, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, January 6, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held following the service at Parkhill Cemetery.
Jean was born on October 14, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia to the late Roy August Marston and Betty Dunn Marston. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, family, and the simple joys that make a life well-lived.
Jean, known for her radiant smile and generous heart, dedicated her life to nurturing those around her. As a loving wife, she stood as a pillar of support and companionship, creating a home filled with laughter and warmth. Her role as a mother was characterized by unwavering dedication and love, guiding her daughter with a gentle hand and an open heart.
The title of grandmother and great-grandmother was one Jean wore with pride and immense joy. She relished every moment spent spoiling her grandchildren, delighting in their milestones and showering them with affection. Her love for children extended beyond her own family, touching the lives of many with her kindness and care.
Jean's passion for animals mirrored the compassion she showed to her family and friends. She found solace and happiness in the company of her beloved pets and the beauty of nature. Her gentle spirit made her a friend to all creatures, great and small.
As a sister and aunt, Jean's presence was a source of comfort and joy. Her siblings and nieces and nephews knew they could count on her for a listening ear, a word of advice, or simply a shared moment of laughter. Her spirit of giving and her deep commitment to family ties will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Kelley, daughter, Leslie Davis, granddaughter, Megan (Patrick) Kelly, great-grandchildren, Oaklee and Denver Kelly, siblings, Patricia and Joey Sellers, Vickie and Johnny Eldridge, Susan and Richard Martin.
Jean's departure leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. As we bid farewell to Jean, we celebrate the profound impact she had on every life she touched.
