Jean Catherine Moi, 73, Columbus, GA, died Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Beallwood Baptist Church, 4650 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus GA 31904 with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. Interment will be held in Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Moi was born April 6, 1940 in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Floyd Minor and Catherine Bryce Minor. She graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and graduated from Troy State University with a Masters in Education. Mrs. Moi taught from 1963-2003 in several places including Alaska, San Diego, Germany, Ft. Benning, and the Muscogee County School District. She was an avid quilt maker, animal lover, exquisite cook, a gardener, enthusiastic reader, and a great conversationalist.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years; Arne N. Moi of Columbus, GA, daughters; Debra Smith of Columbus, GA and Christine Duke (Jerry) of Phenix City, AL, sisters; Janice Bryce Kranz of Santa Monica, CA, Anne Elizabeth Minor and Lynn Carol Minor both of San Diego, CA, brother; Robert Edward Minor of San Diego, CA, grandchildren; Anna Catherine Cochran, Abigail Newman Cochran, and Amanda Mae Christine Cochran, great-granddaughter; Anslie Catherine, and her two dogs; Molly and Maggie.
