Jasper Newton "Tant" Franklin 88, of Seale, Al. died Sunday, July 06, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 09, 2014 at White Rock Assembly of God Church with Pastors; Ronnie Chaney, Emory Evans and Orville Whitacre officiating. Interment will be held in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church according to Colonial Funeral Home 613 14th Street Phenix City.
Mr. Franklin was born May 09, 1926 in Crenshaw County, Al. son of the late Maxwell Roscoe and Rosa Belle Linton Franklin. He was a WWII Veteran of the Navy, a retired Carpenter for Ray Wright Construction Company and a Charter Member of White Rock Assembly of God Church where he served as Trustee, Superintendant and Sunday School Teacher.
Other than his parents, Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patricia Tisdale Franklin of Seale, Al., son; Joe Franklin (Barbara) of Salem, Al., two daughters; Joan Kitchens and Jan Truitt (Bob), sister; Madelyn Franklin all of Phenix City, Al., 6 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to his caretakers, Cynthia, Lisa, Kelley and Columbus Hospice for their care during his illness.
