Jason Andrew Godwin, 22, of Fortson, GA died Sunday, September 5, 2010 in Marion County, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Godwin was born May 12, 1988 in Columbus, GA son of Willie Andrew Godwin, Jr. and Angela Smith Godwin of Fortson, GA. He worked in Customer Service at TSYS and graduated from Harris County High School in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sue Hendrix and Laverne Godwin.
Other than his mother and father, he is survived by his two sisters, Jennifer Shanahan (Cory) of Columbus, GA and Ashley Godwin of Fortson, GA, maternal grandfather, Jerry Smith of Columbus, GA, paternal grandparents, Willie A. Godwin, Sr. of Cataula, GA and Laura Highnote of Cataula, GA, niece, Kayla Shanahan and nephew, Ashton Shanahan both of Columbus, GA, best friend, Justin Jones of Cataula, GA, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
