Janie Kay Matheson

Janie Kay Matheson, 78, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Senior Living, Columbus, Georgia on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Andy Johnston officiating and Kathy Morris providing instrumental music. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA.
Kay was born in Columbus, GA on September 17, 1945. She was a beloved, life long member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church where she served God faithfully. She also was a dedicated and caring elementary school teacher in Muscogee County for twenty-five years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. and Janie Cobb Matheson and sister, Millie Jean Matheson. She is survived by her sister, Jetty Matheson Crump, niece, Abby Lauren Crump-Sinha, nephew, Henry Eugene Crump III, and many Cobb and Matheson cousins.
