Janice D'Orlando, 92, of Cataula, GA died Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Midtown Medical Center.
A Catholic Mass will be held 12:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Anne's Catholic Chapel with Father Jacob Almeter officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. A rosary will be said 6:00 P.M. Monday, May 12, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA with visitation following until 8:00 P.M.
Mrs. D'Orlando was born February 6, 1922 in Detroit, MI, daughter of the late Augustus Mazzocca and Clara Lillian Butland. She lived many years in Boston, MA before coming to Columbus 40 years ago. Mrs. D'Orlando had a brief career in the beauty and cosmetics field, and a long career as adored wife and loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Leonard A. D'Orlando; her son, Steven D'Orlando; and her sisters, Melvina Colozzi of Belmont, MA and Lucille Zelinski of Sarasota, FL.
Survivors include her children: son, Leonard D'Orlando (Laura) of Woodstock, GA; daughters, Sharyn D'Orlando Pellegrini (Bill) and Valerie Thralls Smith (Tom) all of Columbus, GA; sisters, Helena Mulvainey of Quincy, MA, Caroline von Kleydorff of Columbus, GA, Norma Marshall and Maryann Keay both of Center Harbor, NH; brother, Gus Mazzocca of West Hartford, CN; seven beautiful grandchildren, Billy Pellegrini of Manhattan, NY, Jill Pellegrini of Columbus, GA, Ryan Thralls of Columbus, GA, Brandon D'Orlando of London, England, Lenny D'Orlando of Atlanta, GA, Alex D'Orlando and Natalie D'Orlando both of Woodstock, GA; beloved pet, Winston and numerous nieces and nephews.
