Jane Rawls

Jane Rawls, 83, of Columbus, GA died Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tommy Mayton officiating. Private burial will be held in Riverdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 6 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Rawls was born July 25, 1926 in Gastonia, NC the daughter of the late Homer Russell Chesnutt and Ruth Trammell Chesnutt. Jane grew up and lived her entire life in Columbus, and along the way she acquired many lifelong friends and a loving family. She was a bookkeeper for Automotive Enterprises and was an avid gardener. She was a longstanding member of Rose Hill United Methodist Church and served as the church secretary for several years. She later moved her membership to Epworth United Methodist Church. She was very active at both churches with Sunday School Classes and other activities. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Trussell and her second husband, Elgin C. Rawls.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Kehoe and husband, Jack of Charlotte, NC, son, James Trussell of Princeton, NJ, two grandchildren, Erin Grubbs and husband, Jeff of Charlotte, NC, and Micah Halsey of Boston, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
