James E. Webb, Sr., 70 of Columbus died Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA with Rev. Ricky Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mr. Webb was born November 1, 1941 in Rocky Mount, NC son of the late James H. Webb and Jessie A. Cook Webb. He was a U. S. Army Veteran having served during the Viet Nam War. He was the lead aircraft mechanic for Synovus Financial.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Henry Thomas Webb, William Joseph Webb and Jesse Lee Webb.
Survivors include his wife, Mary F. Webb; daughter, Jennifer Hardy; sons, James E. Webb, Jr. and Jeffrey E. Webb and wife Nancy; granddaughter, Mary Beth Hardy, all of Columbus, GA; brother, Gene Webb; sisters, Martha Webb, Sandy Ellis and Audrey Webb all of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
