James Gardner Potter

James Gardner Potter, 88, of Salem, AL died Friday, May 19, 2023 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. A funeral service with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend John Powell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held following the service at the Chapel of the Pines in Parkhill Cemetery.

James was born September 15, 1934 in Lima, OH to the late Edward G. Potter and Vera Macbeth Potter.

Other than his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Potter.

Survivors include his children, Scott Potter (Denise) of Columbus, GA, Lisa Spaeth of Midland, GA; grandchildren, Blake Potter (Leah) of Columbus, GA, Blair Sparks (Cody) of Waverly Hall, GA, Kaylyn Trudell (Jason) of Warner Robbins, GA; great grandchildren, Ella Potter, Hudson Potter, Landry Sparks, Serena Collins, Jaden Trudell, Justis Trudell, his significant other, Linda Walters of Salem, AL, brothers and sisters, Eddie Potter, Lois Newbauber, Barbara Schreckenghaust, Wayne Potter, and Vera Ellen Potter.
