James Foy Ozley, 66, of Phenix City, AL died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Rick Mitchell and Rev. Jay Grantham officiating. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Eric Niles, Wes and Kevin Griffin, Tim and Corey Mogren, and Jason and Jeff Stanford. Burial service will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.
Mr. James Foy Ozley was born August 23, 1952 in Tuscaloosa, AL son of the late Leonard S. Ozley and Polly J. Ozley. Mr. James was an Air Force Veteran, who loved his country retiring from Ft. Benning in the Safety and Occupational Health Field and Combat Readiness with 197th Infantry Brigade for 38 years. He was Awarded the Department of the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the highest award a Civilian can receive from the United States Army, approved by General William W. Hartzog.
Mr. Ozley loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and shooting. He loved Alabama football and always would say "Roll Tide, Baby!!". Mr. Ozley loved to spend time with family and friends and always put God first. He touched so many lives and was deeply loved and a true American patriot.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Ozley Stanford.
Survivors include his son, J.R. Ozley (Melissa) and grandson, Dylan of Smiths, AL, fiancé, Deborah Meadows of Phenix City, AL, sister, Patricia Jones (Bob) of Columbus, GA, and several nieces and nephews and other family members.
