James M. Johnson, "Jim", of Columbus, GA, was born October 4, 1944 and went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2017.

A Celebration of his wonderful life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Chuck Hasty officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jim was the son of the late Damon Johnson and Myrtice Johnson. He worked in the Metal Building industry his entire life where he retired from American Buildings.

Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to all of us. He always made sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy. Jim and Louise coached softball for ten years at Northern Little League and touched the lives of many people.

He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and infectious smile. He showed all of us how a true man loves his wife and family. Everyone that met him, loved him. He will be missed more than anyone can understand, but we know he is with God now continuing his legacy.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Louise Johnson, children, Jennifer Scruggs (Joe) and Barbara Brand (Barry), grandchildren, Nicholas Scruggs, Samantha Christmas (Kyle), Wes Camp, Sydnee Camp, Cody Scruggs and Chad Camp, and 6 great grandchildren, and let's not forget his faithful, furry friends, Mr. Kat and Mario.

A special thank you to Dr. Clark and Dr. McBride, Dr. Pippas and the entire staff of 7 Main. Thank you to the family for all the love and support to Jim and Louise.
