James R. Jensen, Jr., 78, of Columbus, GA, died Friday, June 10, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Jensen was born July 6, 1937 in Styles, WI, son of the late James R. Jensen, Sr. and Cecilla Boudreaux Jensen. He began his Military career in the Navy serving 4 years and retired after 20 years in the Army. Mr. Jensen served in Vietnam and served on the destroyer The Lloyd Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Jensen of Columbus, GA; daughters, Sherry Jensen of Columbus, GA, Karen Driskell (Pierce) of Douglasville, GA, Lisa Smith (Lonnie) of Phenix City, AL; sons, James R. Jensen, III (Tatyana) of Temple, GA and Michael David Jensen of Hamilton, GA; brother, Eugene Jensen of Warsaw, Missouri; sister, Ann Marie Radke of O'Conto Falls, WI; grandchildren, SPC Blake Andrew Smith (Taylor) of Fort Hood, TX, Brandon Alexander Smith of Phenix City, AL; Bridgette Hurlock (John) of Okinawa, Japan; great-grandchild, Kaelyn JoAnne Hurlock of Okinawa, Japan.
