James W. Gruber, 65, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Columbus Hospice House Chapel with Reverend Rickey Ward and Reverend Wayne Holloway officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Gruber was born August 12, 1946 in Columbus, GA son of the late Raymond and Ruth Payne Gruber. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran and ran Ruth's Curb Market for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Deborah Rutherford Gruber of Columbus, GA, son, James W. "Jamie" Gruber of Columbus, GA, step-daughter, Amanda "Amy" Diane Ariel (Michael David) of Tacoma, WA, grandchildren, Micah Seth Morris, II of Columbus, GA and Katherine-Lynn Tayler Morris of Tacoma, WA, sister, Carolyn Rayner of Smithfield, N.C., his favorite niece, Carol Beasley of Four Oaks, N.C., and nephew, Bobbie Rayner of Goldsboro, N.C.
