James Donald "Don" Griggs

James Donald "Don" Griggs, 76, of Columbus, GA died Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Midtown Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. David Spiece officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Griggs was born March 1, 1940 in Columbus, GA son of the late Robert Christopher Griggs and Gussie Reddick Griggs. He retired as a Truck Driver for Yellow Freight Company.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Russell Griggs and grandson, Brannon Ray Hendrix.
Survivors include his daughter, Dana G. Hendrix of Auburn, AL, son, Kenneth Griggs of Columbus, GA, siblings, Jerry Robert Griggs (Ruth) of Raleigh, NC, Deborah McVay (Larry), Alvin Griggs (Carol) and Alex Griggs (Kitty) all of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Erica Rae Schlader (Ryan) and Candace Laine Hendrix, great grandchildren, Brayden Hendrix-Rollins, and special loving friend, Geraldine "Dena" Cato of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901 and Juvenile Diabetes 26 Broadway, 4th Floor New York, NY 10004.
