James "Jimmy" Gibson, 63, of Fortson, GA. died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
A memorial visitation will be held 2:00pm - 4:00pm, Saturday, February 9, 2019 in the Magnolia Room at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Boulevard, Columbus, GA. 31907.
Mr. Gibson was born on September 10, 1955 in Arlington, VA. to the late James M. Gibson and Elsie Conklin Gibson.
Jimmy was a graduate of Carver High School and Columbus College. He was a well-known jeweler and a small business owner in the Columbus and Phenix City area for many years.
Jimmy was a wonderful and loving friend to many, that never met a stranger, and would always bring a smile and laugh to you with his one of a kind personality. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his sons, Matthew and Connor, and having dinner with his family and friends, and beach trips with his family. He will be greatly missed.
Other than his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his brother, Glen C. Gibson. He is survived by his sons, Matthew B. Gibson of Catuala, GA. and Connor J. Gibson of Harris County, GA; sister Imogene "Jean" Willis (Jimbo) of Catuala, GA; loving niece Stephanie Frady (Gene) of Columbus, GA; several nephews, other relatives and friends.
