Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, November 24, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Robin M. Webb officiating. An Interment will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was born May 9, 1953 in Columbus, GA, son of the late James Howard Smith and Marjorie Stinson Hall. He was a member of Altmon Memorial Baptist Church and was a supervisor for Center Brothers Inc.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife; Gail Smith and three grandchildren; Jamie Lumpkin, Madison Toland, and Mary Elizabeth Toland.
Survivors include his wife; Cynthia Smith of Fortson, GA, daughters; Tammie Lumpkin (James) of Phenix City, AL, Stacie Smith of Pensacola, FL, sons; Rusty Ward (Stacie) of Phenix City, AL, Slade Smith of Columbus, GA, 3 step-sons; Christopher Toland (Jamie), Bobby Koonce (Allisa), and Justin Toland all of Columbus, GA, sisters; Edna Webb of Fortson, GA, Linda Denney of Torin, GA, Elaine Cowan and Gwyn Hughes both of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Payne of Danville, VA, Sylvia Peletier of Newnan, GA, and Wanda Torrence of Pensacola, FL, 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
