Pastor James G. Cornett, Jr. 71, of Columbus went to heavens eternal home May 13, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday May 17, 2018 at Solid Rock Assembly of God Church with Dr. Ronald E. Cottle officiating. Interment will be held in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.
Mr. Cornett was born September 5, 1946, in Rome, GA. son of the late James Grady Cornett, Sr. and Thelma Lee Thomas Cornett. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in Vietnam and was in ministry for 43 year serving as the pastor at New Covenant Church, Albany, GA for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years Virginia Cornett, his children with spouses & grandchildren: James Cornett, III; Mike & Sarah Barnwell, their children: Nicholas, Jacob, & Abby; Melvin & Jennifer Davis, their children: DeAndra, Diane, Dayshawna, Destiny, Shynise, DaJon, & Kenn
