James F. Catlin, Jr., 58, of Smiths Station, AL, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 26, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Thomas Pope officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Catlin was born October 27, 1953 in Goshen, New York son of the late James Francis Catlin, Sr. and Marion Mitcham Catlin. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a service technician for Liftone (Pratt Whitney). He loved NASCAR and was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his sister, Diane Bale (Bob); son, James Catlin, III of Columbus, GA; daughters, Megan Catlin of Columbus, GA and Felisha Yekenchik (Jeffrey) of Bamberg, Germany; grandson, Brody Catlin and the mother of his children, Sharon Catlin of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1382, Columbus, GA 31902.
