Jackie Lane Sorrells, 57 of Phenix City passed away on November 12, 2010 at his residence. He was born July 13, 1953 to Dorothy Carver Knight and the late Wilburn S. Sorrells.
The memory of Jackie Lane Sorrells will be celebrated in a memorial service at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Church in the County, Highway 315 East, Cataula, GA with Pastor Tommy Hart officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church, according to Colonial Funeral Home, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Jean Sorrells, brother Elbert Wesley Knight, Jr and sister Wanda Knight Dismukes.
Survivors include his daughter, Kandis Jean Sorrells of Hamilton, GA; step daughter, Jodie M. Salm of Troy, MO; step sons, Karl D. Salm (Tammy) of Salem, AL and Jason Salm of Troy, MO; sister, Rebecca Knight Shine of Hamilton, GA ; brother, David W. Sorrells (Cheryl) of Salem, AL; six step grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.
As a young man growing up Jackie enjoyed many outdoor activities such as riding horses and motorcycles. He enjoyed camping at Bluff Creek, hiking and fishing. Most of all he loved picking his guitar and signing. Jackie had a witty sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
