Jack Harrison Tinkler

Jack Harrison Tinkler, Jr., 83, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with the Reverend Dick Reese officiating. Graveside services will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Tinkler was born September 28, 1932 in Spartanburg, SC son of the late Jack H and Gladys Corzine Tinkler. He graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, AL, served four years in the US Navy during the Korean War, and returned home to attend Auburn University. Mr. Tinkler was the chief electrical engineer for Lummus Industries, and, in 1972, founded Interstate Electrical Supply, Inc. He remained a consultant with Lummus Industries and served as President and CEO of Interstate Electrical Supply, Inc. until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church of Columbus, GA.
Mr. Tinkler was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Gladys Corzine Tinkler, and brother, William F. Tinkler.
His survivors include his wife, Jeraldine Adams Tinkler of Columbus, GA; son Jack H. Tinkler III (Pam) of Columbus, GA; and daughter Elizabeth Tinkler Lumb (Mark) of Huntsville, AL. Other survivors include grandchildren, Jack Tinkler IV (Alisha) of Phenix City, AL; Jeffrey Tinkler of Columbus, GA; Catherine Lumb of Birmingham, AL; Caroline Lumb of Huntsville, AL; great grandchildren, Alison and Emma Tinkler of Phenix City, AL as well as several nieces and nephews.
