Irene Amerson

Irene Amerson, 87 of Columbus, Ga died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd Columbus, Ga 31907 with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Amerson was born July 24, 1929 daughter of the late Willie Oscar Causey and Nettie Stephenson Causey. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Amerson.
Survivors include her six children, Carolyn Williams (Mark), Camilla Anne Campbell, Jenny Spillman (Danny), Jeff Amerson, Jr. (Debbie), Bill Amerson (Jo) and Shelley Amerson, 16 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
