Inez Hudson Goodwin

Inez Hudson Goodwin, 92, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Wayne Holloway officiating. There will be a private interment at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Goodwin was born August 7, 1921 in Coffee County, AL, daughter of the late Butten Henry Hudson and Era Godwin Hudson. She retired after over 35 years in Civil Service at Ft. Benning. From 1959 to 1990, she was Secretary to the Assistant Commandant of the Infantry School, where she worked for 22 Brigadier Generals. She was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Boswell Goodwin; her son, David Boswell Goodwin and her brothers, James Norman Hudson, Sr. and Ralph Gerald Hudson.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Dell Goodwin of Columbus, GA: sister-in-law, Marianne McCorkle Hudson; nieces, Linda Hudson Isbell (Larry) and Cheryl Hudson Murk (Harold); nephews, James Norman Hudson, II (Pamela) and Dennis Michael Hudson (Patricia); cousins, Lucile Ramsey, Betty Voss (James), Ted Birchfield (Voncile), Fred Birchfield (Nancy) and Willa Dean Raybon.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Columbus Hospice and caregivers, Frances, Lucile Ramsey and Linda Isbell.
Flowers will be accepted; however, those so desiring may make memorial donations to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
