William Talbot Van Noy, 79, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Howard White and Reverend Lynn Meadows-White officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Van Noy was born November 26, 1933 in Wichita Falls, Texas, son of the late Elbert Van Noy and Ann Talbot Van Noy. He retired after 24 years in the U. S. Army serving in the Viet Nam War and also in Korea. He later worked as a manager at Carmike Cinemas. He attended Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Irma Zimmerman Van Noy of Columbus, GA; daughters, Wilma Waltrup (Carl) of Glen Burnie, MD and Doris Carrignan (Jim) of Leesburg, FL; sons, Fred Van Noy (Debi) and Bill Van Noy all of Columbus, GA; sisters, Margaret Davis (Rod) of Ft. Worth, TX, Jeanne Mundorff (Marshall) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Tammy Burrows, Brian Waltrup, Todd Davidson, Brad Van Noy, Kyle Van Noy, and Erica Tiffany Stevens and 10 great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1382, Columbus, GA 31902.
