1SGT (Ret.) Charles P. Noblin, 82, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Thomas Pope, Reverend Gary Richardson, and Reverend Udell Addison officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
1SGT (Ret.) Noblin was born June 4, 1931 in Lindale, GA son of the late Alma Lee Noblin and Martha Mitchell Noblin. He retired after 21 years with the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War as First Sergeant. He later worked as a tailor for the Arco Company presently known as Commando. He then went to work for the American Cab Company. Mr. Noblin went to school to be a barber and beautician. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a member of the Heaven Bound Sunday School Class. He loved working with woodworking crafts. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Noblin of Columbus, GA, sons, David Lee Noblin (Kim) of Columbus, GA and Keith Edward Noblin (Gail) of Chepachet, RI, four grandchildren, Stephanie Renae Noblin, Christopher Charles Noblin, Brittnay Nicole Sliney and Cassandra Marie Noblin, and five great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund.
