Hyun Cha Childers, 74, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Sung Man Park officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Hyun was born September 17, 1941 in Japan daughter of the late Jua Jae Yi and Yee Shee Yi. She was the co-owner of Asia Restaurant and the owner of the Asia Wig Shop. She was also a member of The Rock Presbyterian Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alford B. Childers, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Lewis (Ron) of Monroe, LA and Marie Childers of Columbus, GA, son, Alford Childers of Columbus, GA, brother, Hyun Chong Yi of Atlanta, GA, sisters, Chun Sik Yi, Sun Nam Yi both of Korea and Mee Ja Ye of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Heather Jones, Leah Spurlock, Robert Ferzola, Brittany Wood, Courtney Pezzimenti and Taylor Stout, and great grandchildren, Landon Spurlock, Isabella Borutta, Aaliyah Pritchett, and Robert Anderson Harrell.
