Huldah Jo Boyd Yarbrough, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Kindred Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Chapel McMullan Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Paul Thomas officiating. A Private Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born October 17, 1931, in Spalding County, Ga. to the late Lottie Lou Crews Boyd and Thomas Watson Boyd. Mrs. Yarbrough and her husband, Willie Lewis Yarbrough, Sr., were married 63 years and worked together building several businesses in the Columbus and Phenix City areas beginning in the late 1960's. They founded Yarbrough's Auto Salvage and Yarbrough's Factory Outlet Clothing Store in Phenix City, Alabama. Later together they added businesses in Uptown Columbus, Willie's on Broad and Fox Pawn Shop. In the late 1980's, they purchased Park N' Pawn on Victory Drive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lewis Yarbrough, Sr., daughter, Charlotte Yvonne Yarbrough Deason, brother, William Pickens Boyd, and grandson, David Heath Jackson.
Mrs. Yarbrough is survived by her son, Willie Lewis Yarbrough Jr.(Tamara Page) Columbus, Ga., daughters, Marcia Ruth Yarbrough Stone, (Gary Mack) Newnan, GA., and Angela Jo Yarbrough Idel (Peter) of Phenix City, Alabama, two brothers, Crews Boyd (Susan) of Newnan, Ga., Lamar Boyd (Glennis) of LaGrange, Ga., three sisters, Lottie Mae Jiles (Tyre) of Douglasville, Ga., Tommie Lou Hadaway of Valley, Alabama, and Kathleen Boyd of LaGrange, GA. She has eleven grandchildren, 16 Great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Yarbrough's caregiver, LaKisha Kelly, and the nurses and staff of Kindred Hospice, in Columbus, Ga.
