Hugh Edgar Hartley, 84, Columbus, Ga. died Friday, April 4, 2015 at Columbus Hospice Midtown West.
Mr. Hartley was born August 28, 1930 in Washington County, GA. He had made his home in Columbus, GA since 1959. He was retired from Toledo Scale Company as the Service Supervisor and was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Jeffersonville, GA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Reese Funeral Home Chapel, Jeffersonville, GA . Interment will follow in Prospect United Methodist Church cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Reese Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, GA.
Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by his wife, Nella Holliday Hartley; his parents, Oma P. Hartley and Zelma Hartley; a sister, Marjorie Hearn; and a brother, Carol Hartley.
Mr. Hartley is survived by a daughter, Sheila Hartley Nicholson (William) of Columbus, GA; a granddaughter, Courtney G. Strickland (Leonard); three great grandchildren, Kristian Wyatt Martinez, Devin Nicole Martinez and Harleigh Beth Martinez, all of Buena Vista, GA; brother, Phillip Hartley (Rose) of Milledgeville, GA; two sisters, Verlin Johnson of Milledgeville, GA and Glenda Brookins (Jimmy Lee) of New Branfels, TX and many loving nieces and nephews.
