Howell O'Neal

Mr. Augustus Howell O’Neal, III, 78, passed away April 10, 2021 at the Columbus Hospice House.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17th, at Rose Hill Baptist Church, 2100 Hamilton Road, Columbus, GA at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ed Kvietkus officiating. A visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM.

Mr. O’Neal was born November 6, 1942 in Columbus, GA to the late Augustus Howell O’Neal, Jr. and the late Jomyr Faulkenberry Davis.

Mr. O’Neal graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in 1961 and Massey Business College in 1963.  He was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and previously a long-time member of Gentian Baptist Church.  Mr. O’Neal was the owner/operator of Circle Texaco Service Station prior to his retirement.  He was an avid golfer until his health declined, but still enjoyed watching PGA and LPGA tournaments on TV and a big fan of UGA football.

Mr. O’Neal is survived by his wife, Sherry English O’Neal, of 57 years, brother, Ramon Davis (Susan) Columbus, Cousins, Mercer Graddy, Dunwoody, GA, Cathy O’Neal Morris (Kenneth) Griffin, GA, Peggy O’Neal Head (Randy) Fortson, GA, Fred D. Faulkenberry, III, Lake Martin, AL, Becky Faulkenberry West ( Mark) Marietta, GA and Special Friends, Gloria Garner & Milton Haney, Pine Mountain, Ga, Charlie Grimes, Huntsville, AL and David Jordan, his lunch buddy, Columbus.
