Howard Chesley Shehane

Howard Chesley Shehane, 93, of Columbus, GA died January 21, 2022, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 3:00PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Mike McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Howard was born October 12, 1928 in Blue Springs, AL to the late Louie Frank Shehane and Versie Ree Herring Shehane. Howard was a member of the Evangel Temple Church. He retired as head of the Electronic Technology department at Columbus Technical College with over 29 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Shehane, and sons Howard C. Shehane Jr. and Howard Stephen Shehane.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Phyllis Corley Shehane of Columbus, GA, son, Philip C. Shehane of Cataula, GA, daughter-in-law, Denice C. Shehane of Cataula, Georgia, grandson, Jonathan P. Shehane of Danville, Virginia, granddaughter Kara C. Morris, of Columbus, Georgia, granddaughter-in-law Audrey C. Shehane of Danville Virginia, grandson-in-law Philip Morris of Columbus, Georgia, great grandson, Philip Howard Shehane of Danville, Virginia, great grandson, Dwight Levi Shehane of Danville, Virginia, great grandson Isaiah Jacob Nathaniel Lee of Columbus Georgia, great granddaughter, Erin Gwendolyn Shehane of Danville, Virginia, great grandson, Judah Chesley David Lee of Columbus, Georgia, granddaughter, Stephanie Shanks of Dayton, Ohio, granddaughter, Stacey Barefield of Phenix City, Alabama, granddaughter, Chaney Shehane of Columbus, Georgia, great granddaughter, Grace Barefield of Columbus, Georgia, sister-in-law Miriam Shehane of Clio, Alabama, sister, Yvonne Price of Clio, Alabama, brother-in-law, Col.
