Hilda Laverne Hill, 84, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 5 PM Saturday, May 29, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Duncan and Reverend Clark Standard. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Hill was born September 13, 1925 in Colquitt, GA daughter of the late Harvey A. McDonald and Evelyn Rawls McDonald. She was a retiree of A & P Tea Company of 38 years. She was a homemaker and an active member of Beallwood Baptist Church where she taught Vacation Bible School, a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class and helped in the nursery. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Alton Hill of twenty years.
Survivors include her son, Donald A. Hill (Glenda) of Columbus, GA, brothers, Carl McDonald (Betty) of Woodland, GA, Clifford McDonald of Vernon, TX and Vernon McDonald of Florence, AL, her grandchildren, devoted friend, Wanna Lee Chandler Gosdin, and several nieces and nephews.
