Herbert Arthur Brown, 95, of Columbus, GA died Friday, January 18, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 21, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wayne Holloway officiating. A private interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Brown was born July 11, 1917 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Walter Arthur Brown, Sr. and Esther Kinsey Brown. He retired as a supervisor with West Point Pepperell with 49 years of service. He was a Baptist by faith.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Ballard Brown; his step mother, Gertrude Brown Harden; his brothers, Melvin A. Brown, Walter A. Brown, Jr., and Leonard H. Brown; and his sister, Edna Barbera.
Survivors include his daughter, Sue Ann Knight of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Margaret Brown Dansby of Columbus, GA, Martha Brown Tillery (Donald) of Cataula, GA; and Yvonne Brown Dey of Altoona, PA; grandchildren, Christy Hart of Columbus, GA, Candace Jones of Phenix City, AL, Skylar O'Keefe of Columbus, GA and Justin Jones of Phenix City, AL and close family friend and caregiver, Mary Phillips.
