Henry Bennett Bass

Henry Bennett "Benny"Bass, 66 of Columbus woke up in Heaven early Saturday morning September 21, 2013 after a Courageous nearly 6 month battle with cancer.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Benny was born July 19, 1947 in McRae, GA son of the late Cliff and Josephine Bass. He worked as a Sales Representative for various companies from Insurance Sales to Wholesale Meat Distribution always making the Top Performers List before retiring in 2004. Benny was originally from Columbus, he later made his home in Jacksonville, FL where his "Pride and Joy" Elizabeth was born in 1982. He resided in Nashville, TN for years before returning home to Columbus in 2011. He was a Baptist by Faith.
Benny was a kind spirited man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his older sister, Mary Frances Kliza in September 2004.
He is survived by his one daughter, Elizabeth Kaniosky of Jacksonville, FL; older sister, Annie Jo Bass Frazee of Columbus, GA; older brother, Henry Edward"Dave" Bass (Clarice) of Pensacola, FL; nieces, Debbie Webb Kliza of MI, Cheri Bates (Robert), TN and Michelle Fitzsimmons (Mark) of TN; several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. His two caretakers who saw to his every need, Pam Frazee (niece, Annie Jo's daughter) and brother-in-law, R. T. Haines of both of Columbus, GA.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Columbus Hospice House for all the care given to him.
