Helene Marietta Kobs Moreland, 73, of Columbus, GA died Monday, September 24, 2018 at her home.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Living Way Church 7320 Whitesville Rd. Columbus, GA 31904 with Pastor Brad Melton officiaiting. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Moreland was born February 28, 1945 in Chicago, IL daughter of the late Edward J. Kobs and Marie Markovich Kobs. She was a U.S. Navy Veteran and worked as an LPN. Mrs. Moreland loved people, animals, and Jesus. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was very patient and kind-hearted.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Moreland, Sr.
Survivors include her children, Dawn Spencer (Charles) of Columbus, GA, John Moreland, Jr. (Josie) of Lompoc, CA and Kimberly Herring (Ronnie) of Bear Creek, NC, brother, Edward Kobs (Helen) of Woodstock, GA, grandchildren, Jessica Spencer, Nicole Spencer and Charles Spencer, Jr. all of Columbus, GA, Joseph Moreland and Julia Moreland of El Paso, TX, James Diaz of Whittier, CA, Eric Lara of Lompoc, CA, Dawn Pate, Brian Herring and Joseph Herring all of Bear Creek, NC, great-grandchildren, Noah Lara of Lompoc, CA, Raylene Diaz and Anais Diaz both of Whittier, CA, and numerous great grandchildren of Bear Creek, NC, a niece, nephew, and 2 great-nephews all of Atlanta, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901 and PAWS Humane 4900 Milgen Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
