Helen Welsch, 95, of Columbus, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Magnolia Manor.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Ed Rollins officiating. A visitation will be held after the services at the funeral home.
Helen was born February 19, 1928 in Gnadenhutten, OH to the late Helen and Thomas Proud. She worked as a clerk for the Columbus Police Department. She married William L. Welsch with whom she was blessed with many children.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Kelly Welsch and son, Douglas Lyons Welsch.
She is survived by sons, Charles “Billy” William Welsch and Michael Thomas Welsch (Diana), daughters, Vicki Howard (Bobby) and Denise Welsch, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
